About this piece

A complete diagram of the Book of Changes: the eight trigrams and their sixty-four combinations, arranged in both the Earlier Heaven and Later Heaven sequences, with the five phases and the twenty-four solar terms wound around the same centre.

The wheel is drawn so the correspondences line up radially — direction, season, element and trigram all read outward from the taiji. The top panels set out the traditional explanations in short form, so the print doubles as a study sheet for anyone learning the system.

Printed in sage, deep red and gold on matte art paper, with a 12 mm white border and a hanging kit.
